Organisers of The Gemini Print Group Macmillan Coffee Morning Tracey Cooper and Mark Gretton were delighted when colleagues kept arriving all morning with an ever increasing supply of cakes, desserts, sausage rolls, cheese straws and cookies. With a 24/7 production at The Gemini Print Group there was a keen rush of enthusiastic buyers to enjoy all the goodies – and people were generous in their donations. Visiting clients such as b shared in the fun too (with an advance reservation for Victoria sponge!!).
Martin Newark from the Gemini Print Group estimating team achieved the dizzy status of Best Baker. Martin and his family are passionate about supporting the work of the Macmillan teams, so when the challenge of the World’s Largest Coffee Morning fundraising drive was set for the Gemini teams they moved into action creating five different bakes.
Mark Gretton, who heads up maintenance for Gemini sent in video evidence the night before proving he can manage operating an oven not just a large scale manufacturing environment. His calorie laden delicious chocolate cake with fresh cream and strawberries was quickly demolished. Maxine Cropper, production manager, responded to many requests for her famous sausage rolls whilst Richard Golds from the sales team and his wife created a fabulous giant pavlova and Cat Scobie baked a lovely ginger cake
£260 was raised and all the important Gift Aid forms were completed to increase the value for Macmillan by 20% – then the really good news was the generous match donation by the Group Managing Director, Steve Cropper, taking the grand total to £520!
