Judges comments included “Gemini Print clearly provide very responsive service for customers with excellent levels of feedback.  Often working to short deadlines.  Continually investing in new equipment to retain high-quality product offering.”

Maxine Cropper heads up the client service team at the West Sussex headquarters.  Max said “With more than 40 years of providing printing services to businesses large and small it would be too easy for Gemini Print to be complacent.  Instead, my colleagues consistently strive to ‘do it better. ‘Good service’ isn’t enough anymore, so we aim to achieve service excellence.  I am bursting with pride that the team’s work is recognised with such an important award – and send thanks to all our clients who were involved with the assessment process.”

Winner: Manufacturing Business of the Year 2019 – sponsored by DMH Stallard

Judges said “Gemini Print has a strikingly strong team ethos with interaction at all levels – constantly evolving new products and maintaining excellent long-term customer relationships.  They are conscious of environmental impact and have impressive controls and monitoring.  Their aspirations are demonstrated by the boss’s motto ‘Dare to be Different’.

Production Director Matt Cooper said “To have independent judges understand the unique challenges of print manufacturing was a wonderful surprise. In addition to demanding constant capital investment to keep ‘ahead of the game’, the quality of what we output for clients demands the high skills levels, experience and commitment of everyone in our production teams.  This major award belongs to everyone across printing, finishing, pre-press, design and artwork, mailing and despatch, IT and maintenance – the celebrations will be fun!”

In addition to the winning places, Gemini Print was the Commended Finalist for Supply Chain Excellence 2019 – sponsored by University of Brighton. This category includes recognition of the high standard of relationships with suppliers, clients and the community – including the broad range of charity support the teams are involved with throughout the year.

gdb logoThe Gatwick Diamond business region is described as the ‘global gateway’ extending from the Sussex coast including Brighton and Shoreham to south London, Cranleigh in Surrey and into the Kent borders – with Gatwick Airport at its heart.

With a wide range of categories sponsored and judged by leading business people who adhere to strict judging criteria at every stage the awards celebrate the achievements of businesses and business people across a wide range of 15 categories.  The entry and judging process stretches over many months, so there is plenty of time for assessments and decisions as the goal is to celebrate the quality, innovation and success of the whole Gatwick Diamond economic area which is a key part of both regional and the national economy.

gdba winner 2019 stackedThe prestigious GDBA, now in their 11th year, was hosted by Shaun Williamson, still best known for his role as Barry Evans in EastEnders although more recently he has been working with Ricky Gervais.

It is the regions business community that make the awards possible with headline sponsorship from Gatwick Airport, Natwest Bank, Thakeham Group and Extech Cloud.

“The message from all the Directors is ‘thank you & well done’ to everybody in our teams for their role in helping with these remarkable achievements. I am so proud of my colleagues, our clients, and our suppliers and delighted with this level of recognition of what we achieve together”.
